Hydroxytyrosol is a kind of phenolic compound with broad spectrum and has many biological and pharmacological activities. Hydroxytyrosol is known to protect against cancer by acting as a suppressor at various stages of cancer development. It protects DNA within cells and also protects enzymes from damage by free radicals and ROS.
It is known that experiments have proved that hydroxytyrosol can reduce dioxin-induced oxidative stress and DNA damage in peripheral blood mononuclear cells, and reduce cell changes in morphology. In addition, hydroxytyrosol at low concentration can not only inhibit the formation of malondialdehyde, H2O2 fatty acid and 7-ketol cholesterol, but also effectively block the trend of changes in the phosphorylation of ERK and Akt /Pkb, but also inhibit the damage of DNA by uv B, benzalpyrene and other foreign factors.
